Signs of Summers Past by M. Jacobs
Around our summer cottage there are still a lot of old cottage signs. But sadly they are being replaced by laser cut things without the charm of these.
I want this kind of thing to be here forever to remind us of the carefree casual summers of our youth.

The Former Musicians™

Years ago, before I decided I wanted to play with cameras for a living, I thought I was going to play one of these things for a living. I was a sax player for a long time before one day, as a college freshman, I picked up a camera and spent the day cutting class and making photos of campus. I was hooked.
Even though I haven’t picked up a horn in a long time, I still miss playing. I think about it often, even though I no longer have a sax (that works anyway). I also think about posting a craigslist ad looking for other used-to-be’s with whom I would form a horribly out-of-practice horn line. We would play ska and funk, and we would call ourselves… The Former Musicians™
